Read the exciting origin story for Poacher, a conflicted superhero that the world has never seen before but so desperately needs!
After ten years of conflict resolution work overseas, a dark ops agent hopes to leave the pain and trauma behind and start a new life. It doesn’t quite work out that way. After experiencing a PTSD episode at a frat party, a man named Poacher accidentally kills a dog. To avoid felony animal abuse charges, he volunteers for an inter-species brain-to-brain interface beta test in an animal studies lab. A side effect from the experiment leaves him with a mysterious and harrowing ability tied to the suffering of abused animals. His mind is trapped in a distressing cycle of non-human PTSD, like a twisted Groundhog Day, randomly replaying. A cycle of pain that only ends when he confronts their tormentors. Their fate is far worse than death, a karmic justice that makes them live every moment of the pain they’ve inflicted. Some people follow the money to find the bad guys. Poacher follows the pain. |
